Craig passed away, Saturday, July 18, 2020 at his home in Gladstone.

Craig Kubas passed away Saturday, July 18th, 2020, three and a half years following his diagnosis of brain cancer. He was born on July 14th, 1977 to Clarion and Shirley Kubas and was raised in Dickinson. Craig attended Trinity High School, where he met his best friend and future wife, Nikki Martin, graduating in the class of 1995. Both he and Nikki furthered their education at North Dakota State University where Craig pursued a civil engineering degree and graduated in 2000. Craig and Nikki were married on July 9th, 1999 at Queen of Peace church. After returning home from college, they built their dream home south of Gladstone. There, they raised three children, Kylen Grace, born in 2001, Kali Amalia, in 2003, and Camden Jon, in 2007. Craig was a family man, taking every opportunity to spend time with them. He loved taking his girls hunting and passed on his love of fishing to his son, Camden. Craig took pride in his children and it was always a great compliment to him when someone commented on how he had raised such a wonderful family. Craig also had a passion for planting trees that Nikki and the kids will be able to enjoy for years to come. As a man of faith and integrity, Craig raised his children to carry on his legacy.

Craig began his career at Kadrmas, Lee & Jackson as a civil engineer where he worked for 17 years before becoming the City Engineer for Dickinson in 2013. Craig truly enjoyed his career and was very grateful that he was given the opportunity to shape the community for the future. Craig was blessed with the ability to talk to people, and through that he was able to impact many people and projects in the community.

Craig is survived by his wife Nikki; children Kylen, Kali and Camden; mother, Shirley Kubas (Dickinson); brother Monte (Susan) Kubas (Dickinson); sister Marquel (Kevin) Berger (Bismarck); brother Tyson Kubas (Denver); brother–in–law BJ (Lindsay) Martin; mother-in-law Cindy Martin (Gladstone); nephews Zach and Jake Kubas, Colton, Braedon and Ty Berger, Kade, Estin and Brax Martin; niece Abbey Kubas.

He was preceded in death by his father Clarion Kubas, nephew Dylan Berger and father-in-law Kim Martin.
