Albert was born September 13, 1936 in Dickinson, the son of John and Eva (Krug) Tormaschy.  He attended school in Gladstone, graduating in 1952.  Albert enlisted into the US Army in the fall of 1956.  During this time he served in Germany. PFC Tormaschy was honorably discharged from Ft. Sheridan, IL, in 1958.  Albert began farming near Gladstone in 1959.  He married Genevieve Heidt on September 4, 1962 in St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Dickinson.  The couple was blessed with three children, Carla, Curtis and Tina.  The family lived on the farm south of Gladstone from 1962 to 1983, where they ran a dairy operation and farmed.  While farming, Albert had done some construction work, worked for August Cabinet Shop, and he also did oil painting (a hobby he enjoyed) and a few other jobs.  Albert and Genevieve retired from the farm in 1983.  They moved to Dickinson where they owned and operated the Rancher Motel and later converted it into apartments which they operate today.

Albert is survived by his wife, Genevieve; daughters, Carla (Glenn) Renner of Zap, ND and Tina Gress of Dickinson; son, Curtis (Laura) Tormaschy of Gladstone; grandchildren, Summer Vlasquez, Devon Gress, Brandon Renner, Darin Tormaschy, and Brooke Bartholomew; 4 great-grandchildren; sisters Grace (John) Dukart of Dickinson and Linda (Larry) Urbanec of Bismarck; brother-in-law, Mike Marczuk.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Eva; sisters Pauline Dobson and Evelyn Marczuk; and one granddaughter, Sarah Rohde.
