A Funeral Mass for Anna M. Gietzen, 90, of Glen Ullin, will be 10:30 a. m. CDT, Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Glen Ullin with Father Jeff Zwack celebrating. Burial will follow at the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visitation for Anna will be 4:00 p. m. to 6:00 p. m. CDT, Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Glen Ullin with a rosary and vigil service being held at 5:00 p. m. CDT. Anna passed away Thursday, April 2, 2015 at Marion Manor in Glen Ullin. Anna M. Hartmann was born September 22, 1924 in Hebron, the daughter of Henry and Mary (Bender) Hartmann. She graduated from Hebron High School. On June 5, 1971, Anna was united in marriage to Amos Gietzen at Sacred Heart Church in Glen Ullin. She was a committed farmwife. From 1948 until 1971, Anna worked at the Unemployment Security Bureau in Bismarck and helped care for her sister, Martha, who lived with her. Anna was a member of Sacred Heart Church and its Christian Mothers Group. Anna is survived by her brother, Erwin (Jo) Hartmann; sister, Viola (Irvin) Nolet of DeKalb, IL; nephews, Keith Gietzen and Michael J. McCormick who helped care for her; also special nieces and nephew, Jackie (Nolet) Bremer, Susan (Hartmann) Elder, and David Hartmann; and many other nephews and nieces. She is preceded by her husband Amos; five brothers, Albert, Walter, Henry Jr. , George and Fredrick; sisters, Ella Vastag, Hilda McCormick, Esther Anderson, Martha Hartmann and Frieda Kinnischtzke; and several nephews and nieces.
