The Mass of Christian Burial for Annette L. Gresser, 67, Dickinson, ND will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, November 5, 2007, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Dickinson, with Father Dennis Schafer, celebrating. Internment will be in the St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Dickinson.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Sunday, November 4, 2007 at Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson, with a rosary and vigil at 7:00 p.m.
Annette L. Gresser passed away on Saturday, November 3, 2007, surrounded by her family at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Health Center, Dickinson.
Annette L. Kostelecky was born with the help of a midwife on December 10, 1939, on the family farm southwest of Dickinson to Charles I. and Lillian V. (Jirges) Kostelecky. At the age of eight, she and her parents moved to Dickinson. She attended country school southwest of Dickinson and St. Wenceslaus School to the 8th grade. Annette attended Central High School in Dickinson and later obtained her G.E.D. On December 28, 1955, she married David D. Gresser at St. Thomas Catholic Church, Gladstone. They purchased the family farm from Annette’s parents. Together they started a Grade A dairy, which they operated for fifty years. In later years Annette was employed as a Pharmacy Tech at Steiner Pharmacy and at West Dakota Oil. Annette was a member of the Needle Guild, Queen City Garden Club, Club of 69 Homemakers, Christian Mothers, St. Joseph’s Hospital Auxiliary and St. Ann’s Auxiliary. She was a loving, devoted wife and mother. She enjoyed many hobbies and had a great love for animals, especially cats. Annette was known for her strong will, good work ethics and sense of humor. All of these were traits which she passed on to her family.
She is survived by: her husband, David D., Dickinson; two daughters, Gail (Gary) Lackey, Williston and Bonnie Gresser, Dickinson; one son, Charles (Jody) Gresser, Dickinson; five grandchildren, Holly Lackey, David Lackey, Lillian Gresser, Jessica Gresser and Jacob Gresser. She was preceded in death by her parents Charles I. and Lillian V. Kostelecky.
