Anthony Chester Willer was born in Dickinson on October 23, 1970, the son of Anton and Margaret (Lech) Willer. He was raised on a farm near Gladstone and attended Roosevelt Elementary before graduating from Trinity High School in 1989. Anthony continued his education at Dickinson State University. On June 25, 1993, Anthony married his high school sweetheart, Tana Kovash. Their marriage was blessed with twin daughters, Amaya and Asia and the family was blessed to call Dickinson home. Following his 1996 college graduation, Anthony taught at Taylor Elementary for several years. He then took a position with Rosenbluth International before becoming an employee with Dickinson State University. Anthony was the Director of the Educational Technology Office for 17 years. Most recently he held the same position with the North Dakota University System.
Anthony was a farm boy at heart and he loved tinkering in the garage or doing anything related of yardwork. Camping and fishing with his family or grilling and cooking for them was a great joy. He enjoyed sitting down after a hard day’s work, to sip on a good “Old Fashion”. Anthony was an avid Buffalo Bills fan. He was also very passionate about supporting his girls through their sports and activities. Family and Faith were a priority and a gift to him. Anthony was a pillar in the community, serving as a 4-H leader, Mardi Gras Chair, Trinity School Board, Booster Club, Knights of Columbus member and Queen of Peace Folk Group.
Our dear Anthony will be remembered for his witty remarks, classic Dad jokes, and patient selfless demeanor. No matter what challenges or setbacks he was faced with, he always met them with a positive attitude and a smile.
Anthony is survived by his wife of 30 years, Tana; daughters, Amaya (Trey) Praus of Gladstone and Asia (Logan Bentz) Willer; special pet dogs, Ava, Luna and Lindy; mom, Margaret Willer; siblings, Dennis (Coral) Willer of Bismarck, Jerry (Delores) Willer of Council Bluffs, IA, Cheryl (Mark) Holmberg of Omaha, NE, Pamela (Ken) Wanner of Dickinson, Beverly (Karl) Nesler of Fargo, Jeffery (Maria) Willer of Jamestown; in-laws, Rock Kovash, Rick (Mari) Kovash, Lori (Erv) Bren, Les (Greg) Lefor, and Len Kovash.
