Bernice Mueller

Funeral Mass for Bernice Mueller, 92, of Dickinson will be 10:00 am, Tuesday, March 24, 2026 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with Fr. Brandon Wolf celebrating. Burial will take place in the ND Veteran Cemetery, Mandan.

Bernice passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2026 at St. Alexius, Bismarck.

Bernice was born in the New Hradec area on August 27, 1933, the daughter to Anthony and Emma (Ridl) Markel. She grew up in New Hradec, attending school there through the fifth grade. Bernice finished her schooling in Dickinson, graduating from Dickinson Model High. She then attended Dickinson State University's Teacher School, receiving her Bachelors of Science, English and Phy Ed Degree. Bernice proudly taught English and PE in the Dickinson School System. On September 1, 1954, Bernice married Richard Mueller. They became residents of Mott for five years and together purchased Lucky Lanes. Later in 1973, they purchased the Paragon Bowl in Dickinson. Bernice loved people and she enjoyed making connections with all who walked through the doors of Paragon. She was very involved for many years in their business and a very active presence until she passed away. Bernice also found joy in bowling, reading, fishing and spending time at the lake cabin.

Bernice is survived by her daughter, Mary Jo (Ivan) Turner; sons, Richard Jr. (Janie) Mueller, John (Lois) Mueller, Patrick (Judith) Mueller; grandchildren, Michael, Brian, Adriane, Jenna, Jill, Josef, Nicole, James, Kyle, Brooke, Lucas; step-grandchildren, Rudie, Dayton, Taylor; great-grandchildren, Alex, Zoe, Gabriella, Owen; step-great-grandchildren, Cassidy, Savannah, Liberty, Vada, Lincoln, Aurora, Isaac, Olive.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard "Dick" Mueller (2004); sons, James (Jamie) Mueller (2006), Josef Mueller (2019); siblings, Raymond Markel, Charlotte Markel, Edward Markel, Kenneth Markel.
