Brad passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at his home in Dickinson with his family by his side after a six and a half year battle with cancer. His incredible endurance and and strong will to live helped him outlast his given prognosis. Through multiple surgeries and endless rounds of chemotherapy, he never mentioned discomfort of gave up hope.

Bradley James Davis was born in Dickinson on December 7, 1961, the son of Clifford and Marietta (Kovash) Davis. The family moved around several times while growing up, including stops in Taylor, ND, Soda Springs, MT, Baker, MT, and Bozeman MT before returning to Dickinson where he was a 1980 Trinity High School graduate. He continued his education, receiving his bachelor’s degree at UND, where he was also blessed to meet the love of his life, Jane Kristensen through their active involvement in the campus Greek system. The couple was married by Jane’s grandfather, Rev. Elias Kristensen, on August 6, 1983 in Fargo. After college, they moved to Dickinson, where Brad began a career with the State of North Dakota in Child Support Administration. Brad and Jane were blessed with the joy of raising four children.

Brad had many hobbies and interests in life and found great joy in sharing all of those passions, especially with his family, and teaching anyone interested. He had a deep love for camping, hunting, mountain biking, fishing, rock climbing, golfing and he enjoyed creating traditional hunting bows with his wood-working talent. Brad was a dedicated runner, completing 27 half marathons. He proudly juggled attending all of his children’s sporting events for 19 years. He was active with Dickinson Youth Activities, Archery Club, North Dakota Bowhunter’s Association and regularly taught rock-climbing at the WRCC. Brad was a lover of great food. He enjoyed cooking and savoring a gin and tonic, his drink of choice after a run. Brad’s glass was always 1/2 full, usually with bourbon, and his calmness and mission focused personality in every situation will be greatly missed. He truly cherished his family and his marriage. Brad and Janes’ love story was one of enduring companionship. Brad continually celebrated his love for Jane. They shared many beautiful adventures together taking road trips, visiting family, and traveling abroad, especially the many trips they took to Jamaica, which he called his “happy place.”

Brad is survived by his wife of 41 years, Jane; mother, Marietta Davis; mother-in-law, Marilyn Kristensen; four children and seven grandchildren, Kristen (Kent) Preszler of Littleton, CO and Sadie, Claire and Drew; Ben (Linsey) Davis of Fargo, ND and Aiden, Jude and Elle; Adam (Tami) Davis of Bismarck, ND and Beau (born June 20th); Zach Davis of Bellingham, WA; sister, Gwen Davis of Bismarck, ND; brothers Kurt (Wendy) Davis of Columbia Falls, MT, Jeremy (Carrie) Davis of Mandan, ND.
