Clair Kittilson

A Funeral service for Clair Kittilson, 89, of Dunn Center, will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, May 31, 2024 at Normanna Lutheran Church in Dunn Center with Pastor Anne Nies officiating.   Burial will follow in the Dunn Center Cemetery.

Visitation for Clair will be an hour prior to the service at the church.

Clair passed away Monday, May 27, 2024 at Hill Top Home of Comfort in Killdeer.

Clair Duane Kittilson was born April 13, 1935 in Dunn Center, the son of Kenneth and Louise (Kind) Kittilson.  He attended Dunn Center School and graduated in 1953.  Clair went to work as a mechanic for Granfor Chevrolet in 1952.  On August 10, 1957, Clair married Leona Rose McConnell in Normanna Lutheran Church.  To this union Michael, Diane and Shari were born.  Clair retired from Granfor Chevrolet in 1987.  In 1989, he began working for the City of Dunn Center in Maintenance and remained there until 2004.  He was also a volunteer for the Dunn Center Fire Department for 50 years.   During his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting and gardening.

Clair is survived by his wife, Leona; son, Michael (Linda) Kittilson of Killdeer; daughters, Diane (Gary) Carson and Shari (Wade) Barnes of Killdeer; grandchildren, Josh Carson, Jayme (Michelle) Carson, Kyle Gosline, Aimee (Tristan Burr) Kittilson, Logan and Layton Barnes; four great-granddaughters, Maggie, Zoe, Esme and Leia Carson; and sisters-in-law, Jana Kittilson, Adeline Thompson, Diane McConnell; brother-in-law, Ervin (Karen) McConnell; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Donald Kittilson; sister, Ardis (Walter) Kukla; and brothers-in-law, Dale McConnell and Rodney Thompson.
