Dale Horner

Dale F. Horner Sr. , 71 years old, of Ekalaka, Montana, passed away peacefully at Fallon Medical Complex in Baker on May 5th 2003 after a short illness that was only slightly related to his other health issues. He was born on July 8th 1931 in Dover, Minnesota, the son of Benjamin and Laura (Pelofske) Schaffer. At age 5, he moved to the ranch near Ekalaka with his mother and step-father, March Horner, he lived there until 1999 when they moved town. On June 15th 1958 Dale & Yvonne Rilley were married in Ekalaka and had two daughters, Linda & Jaci and one son Dale Jr. Dale helped his step-father, C. K. Putnam with the ambulance and funeral businesses during the late 50?s and early 60?s as well as working a Dahl Memorial and at the Carter County Courthouse during the 80?s. Among Dale?s favorite things to do were hunt, farm, ride horses and work with all kinds of livestock. He also loved to visit with and help out his neighbors, Square dancing and especially to share stories about his kids and grandchildren who he so dearly loved. Dale was preceded in death by his mother and all three fathers, Benjamin Schaffer, March Horner and C. K. Putnam. He is survived by his wife Yvonne of Ekalaka, his son Dale Jr. of Osseo, WI his daughters Linda (David) George of Stevens, PA and Jaci Horner of Ekalaka and the apple of grandpa?s eye his three grandchildren, Randi, Derick and Lucas George of Stevens, PA. , also many nieces & nephews.
