Liturgy of the Word for Darlene (Michels) Wilson, 75, of Beach, ND, will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 2, 2022 at Golden Valley Manor Chapel in Beach with Fr. Dan Berg officiating.

Visitation will be 7:00 p.m., Sunday, May 1, 2022 at Golden Valley Manor.

Darlene passed away on Thursday, April 28, 2022, surrounded by family at Glendive Medical Center.

Darlene was born in Beach, ND on November 24, 1946, daughter of John Michels and Eleanore (Bruski) Michels. She went to school in Beach, graduating with the class of 1964. After graduation, she moved to Minot ND and started working as a CNA. Where she later met Peter G Wilson and they eloped on January of 1966 in Aberdeen, SD as she was able to get married without her parents’ consent. To this union she had 4 children: Wendy, Peter Todd, Shawn (who passed at infancy) and Patricia. They spent many years in the Sentinel Butte area farming and ranching, raising pigs. Pete and Darlene later divorced after the children were raised. Darlene went to college at Dawson Community college for a year, then continued her career as a CNA in Beach ND, Wilbaux, MT, Terry, MT, Bullhead, AZ and Bowman, ND. She was very proud of the fact that she purchased 2 homes in her lifetime, and was especially proud of the home she purchased while living in Bowman. She had a special friend, Bill Weidner, who she spent many hours in a good game of cards or Yahtzee, many picture puzzles and gardening. She loved hosting family gatherings for big holiday dinners.

Her health took a turn and she ended her career as a CNA, with her early retirement she enjoyed her time at home crocheting, playing cards, and doing puzzles. In November of 2016, she entered the Golden Valley Manor in Beach, ND. She enjoyed many nights playing cards in the activity room with her friends. Darlene and her friends loved it when her grandchildren came in on the weekends to visit and play cards. We think it was the hugs and laughs they enjoyed the most.

She was preceded in death by infant son, Shawn Wilson; father John Michels, and mother Eleanore Michels; Peter G Wilson, William “Bill” Weidner, and daughter Wendy Keller.

Darlene is survived by son Peter Todd Wilson (Kay Wiman) of Sentinel Butte, ND, daughter Patricia (Rory) Farstreet Davis of Beach, ND; son-in-law Kenny Keller of Lindsey, MT; Grandkids: Lisa Martens of Dickinson, ND, Mindy Wood of South Heart, ND, Mikayla Ridenhower of Great Falls, MT, Delaney and Tristen Davis of Terry, MT (US Navy), Allysha Shaver of Glendive, MT, and Dalton Keller of Lindsay MT; Great-Grandkids: Marley and Keller Martens of Dickinson, ND, Gavin Wood, Luke Adams, Brixton, Kenzington, and Emerson Harvey of South Heart, ND, and Clancy Merrill of Great Falls, MT; Siblings: Judith (Lee) Kremers of Denton, TX, Mardelle (Calvin) Helm of Anamoose, ND, Darrell (Clarice) Michels of Surrey, ND; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Darlene will be dearly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.

Memorials can be made to the Golden Valley Manor of Beach, ND.
