Deborah Ann Blankenship, 72, of Otter Creek, Montana, passed away October 28, 2026.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place and family services will be held at a later date.
Deborah was born September 26, 1954, in Germany, to William and Toni Levengood. She spent her early years growing up in both Germany and Sidney, Montana, while her father was stationed overseas. Following her father's passing, Deborah returned to Sidney, where she was raised by her grandmother. It was during this time that she met Bert Blankenship, and the two were married on January 15, 1971, at People's Congregational Church in Sidney, Montana.
Deborah and Bert began their married life ranching along Burns Creek before moving to Otter Creek, Montana, where they continued ranching and made their home for many years.
In her younger years, Deborah enjoyed trout fishing in the Bighorn Mountains and spending time outdoors. She especially loved following her boys and supporting them through their many rodeo adventures and occasional misadventures. Deborah also enjoyed getting together with the neighboring ladies, visiting, playing cards, and sharing plenty of laughter.
Deborah had a caring heart and a special place for children. She worked with children with special needs in both Ashland and Broadus, Montana. She also cared for children from the Otter Creek area who stayed at their boarding house in Broadus. Through the years, she touched the lives of many children and families with her kindness and care.
Deborah is survived by her husband, Bert Blankenship; sons, Justin (Marci) and Wally (Lacy) Blankenship; grandsons, Riley (Chelsey), Callum (Taylor) and Duke Blankenship; great grandchildren, McCoy, Morgan and Blayze Blankenship; and sisters, Suzy and Sandy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Toni Levengood; her son, Jason Blankenship; and her brother, Jim Levengood.
