Delores Anita Cumber

Graveside services will be at 11:00 am August 6,2026 at Highland Cemetery in Glasgow, MT with Maxwell Knodel officiating and a luncheon to follow at the Glasgow V.F.W. Hall.

Delores Anita Cumber passed away peacefully July 26, 2026. She was born on October 13, 1939, to William and Frieda Wutzke in Pettibone North Dakota. In her early years she attended grade school in Streeter, eventually graduating from Streeter High School with the Class of 1957.

After graduation, she moved to Jamestown, ND and began working at the Woolworths department store, it was there that she would meet Army private, Kenneth Cumber and after a short courtship the couple married June 28,1958 and made their home on a farm near Jamestown. To this union three boys were born Ronald, Randal, Ritchie. In 1968 Delores and Kenneth divorced, eventually finding their way back to each other in 1988, the pair re-married and Delores acquired another bonus son, Kevin, from Kenneth's previous marriage.

Following Kenneth's injury while he and Delores resided in Edgar, Montana the pair decided to relocate to Laurel, Montana where Delores started working at Target, they remained there until she "semi- retired" then from Laurel they moved to Glasgow, Montana where she continued to Cook for the local farmers market and remained an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the V.F.W.

Subsequently after Ken's passing in 2018 Delores then made the decision to move to Baker, Montana, eventually needing to transition from her apartment due to health complications and move into the Fallon Medical Complex Long Term Care where she remained until her death.

Delores had many hobbies throughout her life, she enjoyed camping, fishing, gardening & canning- when she could keep the grandkids out of her fruit and vegetables, baking and cooking- she was always willing to "throw on a Turkey", make her famous fried chicken and mashed potatoes or bake something whenever company or family arrived.

Although Delores was always very firm in her beliefs and her way of thinking, deep down she loved her family and her community.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt Thank You to the staff of Fallon Medical Complex for the unending dignity, respect and kindness shown to Delores during her stay in the Long-Term Care.

Delores is survived by her brother, Larry (Shirley) Wutzke of Jamestown, ND; Children; Randal (Tracey) of Glasgow, Ritchie of Baker, and Kevin (Gabrielle) of Shepherd; Grandchildren, Kristina (Justin), Bradley (Lauren), Anthony Cumber, Amber, Dusty (Zach), Gus (Cheyenne), Colter, Marissa (Justin), Gavin (Kate);13 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great-Great Grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth; her son Ronald, parents, William & Frieda Wutzke and three siblings.
