Diane (Jepson) Allmendinger passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on December 31st, 2025 at Sanford Medical Center in Bismarck after a courageous battle with cancer.
Diane was born on October 9th, 1950 in Dickinson to Agnes "Peggy" (Sloan) and Wilbur Jepson. She was raised in the Killdeer area and graduated from Killdeer High School in 1968.
Jesus carried Diane to her angels where they are playing games of Pinochle. Diet Pepsi and Lutefisk are most likely also involved. Diane loved her family dearly, she talked about her children and grandchildren with friends and strangers alike. Her grandchildren were her greatest love, they spent hours laughing and hearing her life lessons from her. Those close to Diane, knew her by the love and sanctuary she provided. Many Dunn County residents knew her as the "Weed Control Lady" as she served Dunn County as the Weed Control Officer for 26 great years. She was so dedicated to noxious weed control that she assigned her sprayers to hand pick black henbane and sending pictures of their hard work to her was absolutely necessary. Diane held many important career roles in her life; she was Mayor of Dodge, worked at Dodge School as a business manager, auditor for Dodge and Halliday, a Weed Control Officer for Stark County, bar owner and tender, and a beauty operator plus many more titles during her lifetime. She spent many coffee mornings and dinners with the Dodge community and looked forward to gossiping with her friends. Gardening was one of Diane's many passions. With a smile on her face, she grew gardens tall and wide for children to wander and explore in them. In Diane's younger years, she was active in sports. Specifically, she was a state arm wrestling champion and arm wrestled her grandboys frequently which is a fond memory they share. Whether Diane was cracking a joke or listening intently, she touched everyone who crossed paths with her. She will be greatly missed and forever remembered.
Diane is survived by her children Tarri (Kendall) Joki of Dodge; Kelly Allmendinger of Dodge; daughter-in-law Jamie Allmendinger of Dodge; and son-in-law Chris Strommen of Columbus, MT.
