Doris Erickson

Funeral service for Doris Erickson, 88, of New England, will be at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 5, 2022 at Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church in New England, ND, with Pastor Beth Parks officiating.

Visitation will be 4:00 - 6:00 p.m., Monday, April 4, 2022 at Stevenson Funeral Home in Dickinson.

Doris passed away March 30, 2022 at Good Samaritan Society in Mott.

Doris was born February 28, 1934 to Murrill and Minnie (Kunze) Jones at their farm home in Hettinger County. She attended Coal Bank Rural School for the first 8 years, then graduated high school from New England Public.

She married Charles L. Erickson on June 28, 1953. They farmed and ranched in Slope County until retiring and moving to New England in 1995. She was a member of Kil Kare Homemakers Klub, taught Sunday School, and was assessor for Peaceful Valley Township for many years. She enjoyed gardening, canning, quilting, embroidering, and working Sudoku puzzles.

Doris is survived by five sons, Kirk (Paulette), Loren (Jolene), Sid, Ryan (Laverne), and Brad (Cammy); 10 grandchildren, Scott, Brian, Jill, Chad, Todd, and Drew Erickson, Trisha VanVoorhis, Kylee Vance, Kelsee Wagner, and Lexi Tormaschy; 17 great-grandchildren; brother Don (Peggy) Jones; sister Lois (Randy) Rustad.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Chuck in 2001; grandson Mark; great-granddaughter Cadence; her father Murrill and mother Minnie (Kunze) Jones; 3 brothers Wayne, Glenn, and Virgil; and sister Lucille Jacobs.
