Dorothy passed away Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at St. Luke’s Home in Dickinson.

Dorothy Ridl was born June 4, 1926 in Dickinson, the daughter of Joe H. and Mildred (Pavlish) Ridl. She grew up and attended country school north of Dickinson. As a young girl, she worked with her parents, helping with her siblings and farm work. On May 24, 1943, Dorothy and Charles Dvorak were united in marriage at New Hradec. Together, they farmed and raised their children north of Gladstone. To this union three sons were born, Chuck, Don and Dennis. She enjoyed cooking and was a great cook. Dorothy’s home was always open to family and friends. She enjoyed working at the R & E Health Food Store and later started her own store calling it Natural Health. She operated it until 2001 when it was sold to the Leiss family; continuing to work with them in the store. Dorothy enjoyed listening to music & dancing, playing cards and spending time with family and friends. She was member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church. Dorothy strived to see all of her children go on to attend higher education and felt it was so important. Faith was very important to her and one could find her Bible highlighted and underlined with many hand written prayers in it.

Dorothy is survived by her sons, Charles “Chuck” (Joan) of Haxton, CO, Don (Joyce) Dvorak of Gladstone, and Dennis (Jan) of Little Falls, MN; five grandchildren, Jennifer Dvorak, Jeff (Tammie) Dvorak, Carol (Chad) Brusseau, Jason (Dawn) Dvorak, and Justin (Lena) Dvorak; seven great-grandchildren, Grant & Grace Dvorak, Amanda & Tyler Brusseau, and Eva, Emmy & Leo Dvorak; and two sisters, Viola (John) Keller of Clarkston, WA and Irene (Bill) Kovash of Spokane Valley, WA; sister-in-law, Martha Ridl; brothers-in-law, Albert Bezdicek, Gordon Everheart and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Joe and Mildred Rid; her husband, Charles; brothers Otto and Norbert; two infant brothers, Joey and Arthur; and three sisters, Betty Schmidt, Loretta Bezdicek and Judy Everheart.

Memorials are preferred to Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery, New Hradec.
