Dorothy graduated from Balta High School and attended nurses training at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Dickinson. Dorothy was working as an LPN when she met Joseph Kohl. The couple was married on December 26, 1964, at St. Patrick’s Church in Dickinson. Dorothy loved the farm life. She took care of her countless types of farm animals.  She helped raised and butchered pigs, turkeys and chickens. She was always ready to help wherever she was needed.  Dorothy enjoyed polka danes and music with Joey.  She liked gardening, and mowing her lawn and working in the trees. She was a great cook and welcomed any guest and always treated them as part of her family. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and collecting porcelain dolls.  Dorothy always made time to bring Joey lunch while he worked in the fields, and always welcomed him home from a long day by saying, “Hi Sweet Heart.”

Dorothy is survived by her husband Joey of 55 years; children, Allan (Kim) of New England, Kim (Brian) Herold of New England,  Kelly (Mandi) of Savage, MN; grandchildren, Leslie, Kal, Adam and Waylon, Sophie and Lexie; great-grandchildren Anthony and Kayden; siblings, Reynold (Judy) Ebach, Duane (Sharon) Ebach, Jolene (Ken) Higbee, Lori (Scott) Allred, Rodney (Elizabeth) Ebach.
