Tony Earl White, 67, passed away January 23, 2002 at his home in Ekalaka, Montana. He was born on March 15, 1935 in Onawa, Iowa, the son of Tony and Nellie (Maxell) White. Earl grew up and attended schools in Iowa. He married Rena Rae Taylor, in the spring of 1956 at Buffalo, SD. To this union one son was born, Brett White, and two daughters RoxAnne & Loralee. They later divorced. He later married Mabel Welch in Ekalaka. Earl worked many years as a linotype operator for Tom & Gladys Taylor at the Ekalaka Eagle. Tom often told the story that Earl was one of the best linotype setters there was, this was when they still used lead for lettering in the printing of the paper. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting. Earl is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Mel of Eureka, Montana. He is survived by his daughters, RoxAnne Huffman of Beach, North Dakota and Loralee Schroeder of Elko, NV; his son: Brett White also of Elko, NV; eleven grandchildren; Jamie, Jasalee, Jerica, Jaylun, Jory, Janae all of Elko, NV, JordAnne, Jade, Jayce all of Beach, ND, and Tony and Timothy White of Belgrade, MT; two brothers: Donald White & Leonard White of Onawa, Iowa. Earl’s family would like to extend their thanks and appreciation for his friends in Ekalaka and special friend and caretaker, Donna. Memorial Services will take place on Tuesday, Jan. 28th, at 11 AM at the Ekalaka Bible Church in Ekalaka.
