Funeral Mass for Edwin J. Wolf, 77 of Belfield will be 10:00 a. m. , Monday, January 31, 2005 at St. Bernard?s Catholic Church in Belfield with Father Shannon Lucht, celebrating. Interment will follow in the St. Bernard?s Cemetery in Belfield with military honors by the William C. Blair Post #144. Visitation will be Saturday from 3:00 p. m. to 9:00 p. m. , continuing on Sunday from 9:00 a. m. to 9:00 p. m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p. m. at Stevenson-Mischel-Olson Chapel. Visitation will continue on Monday, one hour prior to service at the church. Edwin passed away Thursday, January 27, 2005 at St. Benedict?s Health Center in Dickinson after a long battle with diabetes with few complaints while he was suffering. He was born March 6, 1927, the son of Raphael and Barbara (Eberts) Wolf. He grew up and attended schools in Belfield and Dickinson, graduating from Belfield High School in 1945. Edwin enlisted in the US Navy in 1945 and served until 1946 when he was honorably discharged. He returned to Belfield because of the death of his father and began farming with his brother, Tony six miles southeast of Belfield. Edwin married Edith Ouelette on October 20, 1948 at Belfield. Shortly after their marriage, they moved to the Pete Ebert?s farm where they farmed until 1992 when they moved into Belfield. They made their home there since. Edwin enjoyed dancing, watching football and playing cards. The farming and ranching didn?t always go as he planned but Edwin died with a true love of the land. He enjoyed harvest time and took pride in his Hereford cattle. In addition to farming, Edwin also custom harvested with his son, Daryl, worked for Union Carbide, Albert?s Bar, hauled scoria for the county and served on the school board for several years. His church was always a meaningful part of his life and he would spend many hours praying the rosary and attending Adoration Hour. Edwin?s family was very important to him and his grandsons were particularly fascinated by his sense of humor. Survivors include his wife, Edith of Belfield; two daughters, Michele (Dave) Hoff, Bismarck and Carla (Ed) Shypkoski, Dickinson; a brother, Antone (Rose) Wolf, Belfield; a step-brother, Martin (Margaret) Olheiser, Sedona, AZ; step-sisters, Pauline Schneller, La Mesa, CA and Emily Johnson, Dayton, OH; a step-sister-in-law, Ida Olheiser, Dickinson; four grandsons: Jared and Bryce Shypkoski and twins, Darik and Dilan Hoff and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Daryl; his step-father, Mike Olheiser; a step-brother, Pete Olheiser and a step-sister, Magdalene Kuntz.
