Emil E. Zueger, 70, New England, died Thursday, November 25, 2004, at his home. Memorial services will be 2 p. m. , Thursday, December 2, 2004, at New England Public School gym, New England. Emil Zueger was born August 16, 1934, in Mandan, ND, the son of Emil Zueger, Sr. and Emilie (Elsener) Zueger. He attended schools in Mandan and graduated from the N. D. S. U. School of Pharmacy in 1957. He was united in marriage to Darlene (Krispy) Beauchamp in June of 1957. They moved to New England, ND where Emil accepted a position as pharmacist at New England Drug. They purchased New England Drug three years later and owned and operated until selling it in 2002. Emil was a very spirited community leader. He served as a director of American State Bank until he became ill. He served on the New England Public School Board. He was a member of several pharmacy organizations, the Elks, Lions, volunteer firemen, ambulance, and a member of many clubs and organizations. He was a member of Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church. Emil was a dedicated man, but he also really liked to have fun. He enjoyed camping and traveling with his family and spending time at their cabin in South Dakota. He also enjoyed hunting with his friends, fishing, bowling, golfing and was a football referee for many years. Emil is survived by: his wife of 47 years, Darlene (Krispy) Zueger, New England, three daughters, Lynn (Mike) Olson, Aspen, CO, Terryl Zueger, Aspen, Colorado, Jodi (Terry) Steiner, Colorado Springs, CO; two granddaughters, Courtney Olson and Raven Steiner; one grandson, Gavin Olson; one sister, Sonja (Peter) Lobban, Los Altos, CA; three brothers, Arthur (Marian) Zueger, Mandan, ND, Paul (Bonnie) Zueger, Denver, CO and David (Ardella) Zueger, Dallas, TX. He was preceded in death by: his parents and an infant brother, Otto.
