G. Marlene Stanley

Dickinson

Funeral Service for G. Marlene Stanley, 84, of Dickinson will be 10:00 am Thursday, January 12, 2022 at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Dickinson with Pastor Lisa Lewton officiating. Burial will follow at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery in Mandan.

Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 pm on Wednesday, January 11, 2022 at Stevenson Funeral Home with a prayer service taking place at 6:00 pm.

Marlene passed away on January 6, 2023 at Evergreen in Dickinson.

G. Marlene Rykowski was born on November 13, 1938 in Sidney, Montana to Joseph and Ruby Rykowski. They moved to the farm northeast of Belfield when she was a toddler.

Marlene married Eugene Keller in November of 1956. They had two children, Susan and Michael. Eugene passed away in 1960. Marlene married Roger Stanley on December 26, 1963. She gained a stepson and a stepdaughter, Art and Esther Gail. She and Roger had three children together, Laura, Steve, and Michelle. They lived in Dickinson for all of their married life, until Roger passed away in March of 1995.

Marlene enjoyed playing cards, bingo, reading, and finding a slot machine here and there. She especially enjoyed loving on her grandkids.

Marlene is survived by her children, Art (Rita) Stanley of Nevada, Michael Keller of Arizona, Laura (Barry) Meduna of Dickinson, Steve (Linda) Stanley of Beulah, and Michelle (Craig) Sickler of Montana; her grandchildren, Lisa (Cory) Ladwig, Roger (Natalie) Stanley, Robert (Lori) Stanley, Ryan Stanley (Alisha), Rebecca Sand (Rob), Brad (Dena) Sand, David (Susan) Keller, Jared (Alyshia) Meduna, Nicole (Dan) Renshaw, Samara (Brandon) Frickey, Diedre Sickler (Sean), Nathan (Brette) Sickler, Amber Sickler, and Carly Sickler; 14 great-grandchildren; her siblings, Ray Rykowski, Helen Flaaen, Janice Schwindt, Ken Rykowski, LaVern Witte, Sandra Tuhy, Ron Rykowski, David Rykowski, and Doug Rykowski; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Eugene (1960) and Roger (1995); daughter, Susan Sand; granddaughter, Skylar KayAnn Stanley; great-granddaughter, Charly Renshaw; daughters-in-law, Rita Stanley and Holly Strom; son-in-law, Ken Sand; and brother, Ed Rykowski.
