Galen Dean Rustan went to his eternal home on March 22, 2026 at age 82. Galen was born to Odin and Olga Rustan on September 26, 1943 in New England ND. As a child, Galen loved growing up on his family farm.
Galen met his wife, Carma Hutson, in Salt Lake City September 1970 where Galen was working for Amoco oil . They married later that next year on June 05, 1971 in Carma's hometown of Montrose, Colorado. In 1972 they moved to Kansas City MO and went on to have two children, Brad (1977) and Brian(1980). He later moved his family to West Des Moines Iowa in 1988, then to Owasso Oklahoma in 1996 to present.
Galen was an accountant for Amoco for 31 years, before doing consulting work for Arthur Anderson and later working full time with ConocoPhillips where he retired in 2010.
Galen and Carma obtained the family farm in 2009 and made it their secondary home in the summers. Galen also loved spending time in the winter going to South Padre Island,Texas, where Galen and Carma spent time on the beach and hanging out with friends.
He loved gardening, both with vegetables and flowers, learning about his Norwegian heritage, traveling to Norway and reconnecting with his Norwegian family. He was overjoyed when his family members came to the farm from Norway and they were able to travel to the black hills for a few days.
Galen joins his parents, Odin and Olga, his brother Lyle, and sister Marleen, in Heaven. He is survived by his wife, Carma, his children, Brad (Chantelle) and Brian (Erin), and his grandchildren, Brady, Ryan, Ruby and Chandi.
