George Hoffman, a beloved husband, friend, and cherished member of the Belfield community, passed away on January 14, 2026, at the age of 80. Born on November 16, 1945, the son of Matt and Ann Hoffman. George lived a full life that was marked by love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to his wife, Marjorie.

George's journey began one fateful day at Pete's Café, where he met the love of his life. Their whirlwind romance led them to elope to Worland, WY, and soon after, on March 18, 1967, their marriage was blessed at St. Bernard's Catholic Church. Together, they created a beautiful life on George's family farm, which they worked together until they held their auction sale in 1991.

Although George attended school through the 8th grade, he became a master in the art of hard work, dedicating himself fully to the farm alongside his father. George adapted to life in town, where he worked for Hlebechuk Construction and Billings County. Marg passed away in 2015. George never quite mastered the culinary arts, he thoroughly enjoyed his meals at his favorite local haunts, Rendezvous and Burly's Roughrider, where he could often be found sharing a good laugh over that day's special.

George was known for his quick wit and infectious sense of humor, always ready with a joke that could brighten anyone's day. He cherished the time spent with his cats on the farm, bonding over the simple joys of life, and continued to find happiness in the company of friends.

An avid Denver Broncos fan, George never missed a game, celebrating each season with the same passion he brought to life itself. He enjoyed spending evenings playing pool league, well-known in his circles for being a sharp shooter at the table.

Survivors include, brothers-in-law, Larry Piotrowski, New England, Chuck (LaRae) Piotrowski Dickinson, sisters-in-law, Charlene (Ed) Praus, Hettinger, Brenda (Ed) Roller, Belfield, Vicki Schneider, Dickinson and numerous nieces and nephews. Also survived by special adopted sister, Maggie Hewson and her daughter, Tammy Hurt, along with some special people, Terry Klym, Derek and Tim Hendricks and Gwen Kaiser.

George was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Marjorie.

As we reflect on George's life, let us remember the joy he brought to those around him, the laughter that filled the air whenever he was present, and the love he shared so freely. He will be dearly missed but forever cherished in the hearts of those who knew him.
