George passed away Sunday, October 4, 2020 at St. Benedict’s Health Center in Dickinson.

George P. Roller was born July 24, 1930 on the family farm southwest of Dickinson. The only son of Phillip and Minnie (Roller) Roller, George grew up on the farm and attended Ashcoulee Country School with his three sisters. He would often reminisce of how he would ride horse to school when the weather permitted.

George loved everything about the farm. He spent time raising cattle, horses and various crops with his parents before taking over when they passed away. After selling his cattle many years ago, George continued to go to the farm on an almost daily basis. He would spend his time mowing the grass, feeding his cats, and tinkering with various vehicles and buildings. Being there brought him so much joy.

George was a private man with a kind and grateful heart. He appreciated those who took the time to visit with him over a cup of instant coffee or help him out when he needed a bit of assistance. Those friendships were important to him until his last breath.

George was a lifelong member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.

George was preceded in death by his parents, Phillip and Minnie; sisters, Christine Roller, Magdalena (Sebastian) Schwidt and Pauline Roller.
