Gerald ?Jerry? Boehm, 60, of Killdeer died peacefully, surrounded by his family on February 16, 2004 at his home after a courageous battle with cancer. Funeral Services are 11:00 a. m. on Saturday, February 21, 2004 at The Living Word Fellowship Church, Dickinson with Pastor Tim Voth, officiating. Interment will follow in Dunn Center Cemetery. Visitation is Friday, from 10:00 a. m. to 9:00 p. m. at Stevenson-Mischel-Olson in Killdeer with a prayer service at 7:00 p. m. Jerry, the son of Lars and Adalyne (Toody) Haugen and Mathew and Dorothy Boehm, was born August 4, 1943 in Dickinson, ND. He attended school in Killdeer, ND. Upon graduation in 1961, he attended Wahpeton State School, of Science after which he enlisted in the Army. After being honorably discharged in 1965, he worked various construction jobs at power plants and steel mills in Minnesota, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, Indiana, North Dakota, South Carolina, Nebraska and Kansas. He moved back to Killdeer in 1978 and started a small construction company, Killdeer Erectors. Jerry married Karen Knutson November 12, 1982 and they shared 21 short years of love and laughter. Family meant everything to him. He loved spending time giving bike rides and fishing with his nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. Jerry was an avid hunter and fisherman. He never enjoyed life more than when he was on his Harley. Jerry was a member of the Killdeer American Legion, ABATE of ND, Harley Owners Group, American Motorcycle Association and the NRA. Those grateful to have shared his life include his loving wife, Karen; one son, Chad (Angie) Boehm, Bowman, ND; one daughter, Jill Boehm, Frankfort, KY, Cora & Kate Kadrmas, whom were like daughters to him. Jerry?s mother, Adalyne Haugen, Killdeer, ND; five brothers, Harlan Haugen, Minot, ND, Kevin Haugen, Kenoza Lake, NY, Randy (Kim) Boehm, Portland, OR, Rick (Sue) Boehm, Vancouver, WA, Kim (Kathy) Boehm, Amboy, WA; one sister, Geraldine Haugen, North Bend, WA. Five grandsons, Jordan, Justin, Jesse, Jake & Nate, one granddaughter, Holly, his step-mother, Dorothy Boehm, Vancouver, WA, his mother-in-law, Bethol Knutson, Killdeer, ND; two brothers-in-law, Kim (Ann) Knutson, Paul (Deb) Knutson; two sisters-in-law, Lori (Elvis) Kadrmas, Brenda (Tom) Pieterick, numerous nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his fathers, Lars Haugen and Matt Boehm, father-in-law, Kenneth Knutson, maternal & paternal grandparents. His family and friends will surely miss Jerry?s love of life, humor, and great one-liners.
