Glenn Gerving

January 4, 1966 — April 29, 2025

Glen Ullin

A Funeral Service for Glenn Gerving, 59, of Glen Ullin will be held at 10:30 a.m. CT., on Monday, May 5, 2025, at Sacred Heart Parish in Glen Ullin with the Reverend Toby Heller officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.

Glenn went to his eternal home on April 29, 2025, after a brief battle with AML.

God knew what He needed to care for this land, and so He made a farmer. And on January 4, 1966, a true farmer was born to James and Marlene (Holznagel) Gerving. He was raised on his family farm east of Glen Ullin alongside his older sister Tammy and his two younger brothers Dean and Allan. From early on he was taught how to care for the land and his cattle, so that they would in turn provide for his family. Glenn was an outstanding basketball player, and he played for the Glen Ullin Rattlers in the state tournament. This summer he was set to be inducted into the Glen Ullin Community Hall of Fame to recognize his achievements in basketball. After attending BSC, he went to work on his family farm. On November 20, 1988, Glenn married the love of his life and his true helper sent from God, Lisa Bornemann. Together they raised three beautiful daughters: Jamie, Alisha, and Kendra. Glenn and Dean eventually took over the running of the farm, and together they worked to create a very successful operation. Glenn’s greatest joy in life was spending time with his family. He and Lisa loved to travel with their girls, and Kayden, Camden, Hudson, and Bristol will forever cherish their trips to Disney with Grandma and Papa. And sweet Eleanor, who was born in January, got to meet her papa and feel how much he loved her. Glen will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Glenn is survived by his wife of 36 years, Lisa; daughters, Jamie and Mat Seiler (Hebron), Alisha and Josh Olson (Bismarck), and Kendra and Tresten Kennard (Mandan); Jordan Saylor (Glen Ullin); five beautiful grandchildren, Kayden, Camden, and Hudson Saylor, Bristol Seiler, and Eleanor Olson; mother, Marlene Gerving; his sister, Tammy (Greg) Sundby (Minneapolis); brothers, Dean (Tera) Gerving (Bismarck) and Allan (Shana) Gerving (Bismarck); in-laws, Dale and Lois Bornemann (Glen Ullin); Sister in law, Lora (Bryant) Voegele (Glen Ullin), Rick and Cindy Aaser (Hannover), Cindy and Dale Berg (Hannover); and 15 nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father, Jim; two brothers-in-law, Clay Bornemann and Todd Bornemann; and his maternal and paternal grandparents.

In lieu of flowers Glenn’s family suggests donations be made to the Glen Ullin Ambulance or Fire Department.
