Funeral Mass for Ida Oster, 74, of Dickinson will be 9:30 a.m., Friday, June 15, 2012, at Queen of Peace Catholic Church with Father Jeff Zwack celebrating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Dickinson.


Visitation for Ida will be 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Thursday, June 14, 2012 at Stevenson Funeral Home in Dickinson with a Rosary and Vigil service being held at 7:00 p.m.


Ida passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at St. Luke’s Home in Dickinson.


Ida Heidt was born August 10, 1937 in Dickinson, the daughter of George and Frances (Kubischta) Heidt. She grew up in the Dickinson, Taylor and Belfield communities, attending school through the eighth grade. On September 6, 1955, Ida was united in marriage to Clement Oster at the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church south of Belfield. The couple lived in several North Dakota cities such as Devils Lake and Minot before returning to and making Dickinson their home since 1968. To this union, four children were born. Ida spent many years working as Clem’s secretary at Spot Adjustment Company. Ida loved working in the yard and making sure everything was clean and spotless. She took great pride in her home and always enjoyed having a cup of coffee while visiting with family and friends. During her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and embroidery. Ida was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church. She was also an active volunteer at St. Luke’s Home in Dickinson.


Ida is survived by her children, Cindy (Rod) Jaeger of Dickinson, Gary (Linda) Oster of Bismarck, Wanda (Gregg Pelton) Oster of Bismarck, Brenda (Michael) Kvamme of Cottage Grove, MN; six grandchildren, Jadon & Ashlyn Jaeger; Kelsey, Taylor & Lauren Oster; and Lily Kvamme; three great-grandchildren, Zachary Breiner, Reegan Leingang and Callee Leingang; one sister, Frances Dukart of Billings, MT; two brothers, Paul (Betty) Heidt of Kansas and Pete (Irene) Heidt of Dickinson.


She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clement; brother, Jack Heidt; two sisters, Barbara Oster and Mary Kuntz.
