Irene Carolyn Dockter

Funeral Service for Irene Dockter, 97, of Baker will be held 10:00 am Monday, March 23, 2026 at Stevenson Funeral Home with Pastor James Parks officiating. Burial will follow at Bonnievale Cemetery.

Irene passed away on March 11, 2026 at Fallon Medical Complex in Baker.

Irene Dockter was born January 18, 1929 to Philip and Mary (Sayler) Dockter in Venturia, ND. She grew up there and attended country schools. She graduated from Ashley High School and later attended a teacher's college. She taught country schools in ND and later in Baker,MT in the 50's.

Irene went on to Portland, OR and worked for the two Sayler brothers who owned The Old Country Kitchen and later retired from there. During her time in Portland she attended Mt Hood College and traveled the world to many countries. In 2002 she and her sister Hulda moved to Baker to be close to family. Irene attended the First Baptist Church in Baker.

Irene is survived by nieces and nephews, Daniel Dockter, Debbie Yagues, Patty Beck and Tim Bertsch, and several great nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Philip and Mary; brother, Milton Dockter; and sisters Hulda Dockter and Adeline Bertsch.
