Isabel passed away Monday, July 1, 2019, due to injuries sustained in an auto accident in Dickinson.

Isabel Ann was born on September 19, 2004 in Dickinson, the daughter of Beau and Holly O’Brien.  She grew up in rural South Heart where she was a student of South Heart Public School. Izzy brought joy at every opportunity with her infectious smile, always bringing laughter to those around her.  She was selfless and always seemed more concerned for others than herself.  Izzy was a devoted guitar player with a passion for 90’s music or any music with soul.  She played the flute and was in the school choir.  Volleyball was her sport of choice and she was an honor student.  The things Izzy loved the most were: creating new recipes to sample; smoothies, coffee, animals, Kayaking, and traveling, especially to the beach or desert (anywhere with sand).  She loved riding in the (Doom) Buggy but insisted on sitting in the back. She took every opportunity to go to the gym with her family. Her siblings meant more to her than anything; she was Gracie’s best friend, Zach’s comedic inspiration, her mother’s confidant, and always her father’s copilot on every adventure. She loved to play guitar for her family audience while always reassuring her dad that he was still better… The Holiday cookie season was a time cherished by her Grandmothers as she was always enthusiastic to bake dozens of treats for the whole extended family to enjoy.  Izzy was adored by her younger cousins, she always included them and took time to make them feel special.  Izzy’s time with us was short but she will be forever loved and dearly missed by all who were blessed to have been a part of her life. Our hearts are broken, but she needed to take a little piece of us all with her.

Izzy is survived by her parents, Beau and Holly; sister, Gracie; brother, Zachary; grandparents, Darby and Renita O’Brien of South Heart, Robert and Pamela Sivak of Dickinson; great-grandmas, Lydia Boltz of Dickinson, Ilene Kowis of Hettinger; aunts and uncles, Kory (Sarah) O’Brien of Dickinson, Neil (Jessica) O’Brien of South Heart, Heather (Tory) Jandt of Beach, Annie (Kent) Larsen of Fargo, Daniel Sivak of Dickinson; numerous cousins, extended family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to South Heart High School Music Department in Honor of Izzy.
