Our little miracle, Jack Ivan Hayes, was born on January 10, 2018, in Dickinson, ND; sharing his mom’s birthday.  After being diagnosed with Thanatophoric Dysplasia early on in pregnancy, Jack was expected to live only a few short hours.  Unexpectedly, we graciously got to spend 14 months and five days with him.  Jack is proof of God’s many miracles.  He spent his life being loved and cared for by so many, deeply touching each person he met.  Jack loved snuggles, kisses, giggling, talking, reading books, playing toys, chomping on his nuki, tickles, peekaboo, watching big sister and Dad be loud and crazy, and the taste of anything sweet.


Jack was called home on March 15, 2019, in the comfort of Mommy’s arms with Daddy, big sister and friend, Juanita Dorner there to say goodbye.  He will be deeply missed by his mom, dad, sister, grandma, grandpa, aunts, uncles and cousins.


Jack is survived by his mom, Taura Schantz; dad, James Hayes; big sister, Alice Hayes; maternal grandparents, Les and Valerie Schantz of Glen Ullin; paternal grandparents, Terri (David) Sandheimer of CO and Jim Hayes of CO; great-grandparents; numerous aunts and uncles.


He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents.
