Dickinson

Rosary Service for James “Jim” Sticka, 70, of Dickinson, will be 1:00 pm Monday, September 26, 2022 at Stevenson Funeral Home in Dickinson. Deacon Bob Stockert will officiate. Visitation will be from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm.

Jim passed away on Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at the Western Horizon Living Center in Hettinger, ND.

Jim was born March 16, 1952 on his family’s farm near Schefield, ND. He grew up fishing and riding bareback with his brothers, and on occasion would even skip school to do so.

In 1973, Jim was united in marriage to Lana Krank. To this union two daughters were born, Stacey and Amy Jo.

Jim worked for several different oil companies over the years, where he made many friends. He was a proud employee of the Nabors Drilling Co. up until his retirement in 2008 due to health concerns.

On June 21, 1981, Jim met the love of his life and his life partner of 41 years, Donna Lien.

In his spare time, Jim enjoyed processing meat for his friends and family. He specialized in making his famous country style sausage. He spent hours gardening, enjoying four-wheeling, and going to the races; but most of all, he loved his home by the lake where he lived for the past 27 years.

He will be missed by his life-long partner, Donna Lien; his two daughters, Stacey Restemeyer and Amy Jo Lottering; 4 grandchildren; his sisters, Delores Jacobs of Bismarck and Kathie (Don) Bren of Dickinson; his brothers, Tom Sticka of Dickinson, Mike (Karen) Sticka of New England, and Dennis Sticka of Richardton; sister-in-law, Virginia Sticka of Dickinson; brother-in-law, Larry Fleckenstein of Bismarck; numerous nieces and nephews; and Donna’s loving extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Lena Sticka; brother, David Sticka Jr., sister, Judy Fleckenstein; brother-in-law, Jerry Jacobs; nephew, Dean Fleckenstein; and niece, Sierra Sticka.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to TR 4 Heart & Soul, 8023 93rd Street SE, Bismarck, ND 58504.
