Jody Arthaud was born on February 2, 1960, in Williston, North Dakota. The son of Robert and Barbra Arthaud. Jody was the third of four children. Jeanne Wanner (Dave), Jim Arthaud (Lynn) and just one year after Jody's birth came the final sibling of the Arthaud crew, Kelly.

Jody and his siblings grew up across North Dakota, their family following the oil and gas industry wherever it took them. He attended grade school in Belfield, North Dakota, and later graduated from high school in Scott City, Kansas.

After high school, Jody found his way back to his true home, North Dakota and began building a life in the oil and gas industry. Jody was instrumental in helping his brother start and grow Missouri Basin Well service into the largest oilfield service company in ND along with his father, Dave Wanner and Don Hecker. Jody had a natural gift for business and genuinely loved building and growing companies. He was incredibly intelligent and hardworking, but those who knew him will remember him just as much for his patience, compassion, generosity, and having one of the biggest hearts around.

Jody had a deep appreciation for both his family, North Dakota history and a lifelong love of antiques, especially gas globes and pieces connected to the history of the oil and gas industry. Over the years that passion grew into something even more meaningful when he used it as a way to honor and keep alive the memory of his son, Zachary, through the creation of the Zachary Arthaud Foundation.

Outside of business and antiques, Jody loved the Minnesota Vikings, Kansas Jay Hawks, fishing with his friends, and pheasant hunting with friends and family. He treasured the people in his life and the time spent alongside them-whether it was around a business table, out hunting in the North Dakota countryside, on the water with a fishing pole in hand, or simply sharing stories and laughter.

More than anything, Jody deeply loved his family, his children, Kendra, Stephanie, Zach, and Andy, were his pride and joy-but his grandchildren truly took the cake. To Haaken, Briggs, and Haze, he was simply Grandpa Jody, and there could not have been a better one. They adored their grandpa, and he adored them right back. Being their grandfather brought him an immeasurable amount of happiness, and the love he had for those three boys was something anyone around him could see.

Jody will be remembered for his heart-for the way he loved his family, the patience and kindness he showed others, his generosity, and the lasting impact he made on the people and communities fortunate enough to know him. His absence leaves an incredible hole in the lives of those who loved him, but the stories, lessons, laughter, and love he gave so freely will remain with them forever.

It gives his family peace knowing he is reunited with Zach once again.

Jody is survived by his children, Kendra, Stephanie, and Andy; grandchildren, Haaken, Briggs, and Haze; siblings, Jeanne (David) Wanner, Jim (Lynn) Arthaud, and Kelly Arthaud.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Barbra Arthaud; and son, Zach.
