Mass of Christian Burial for John Patrick McCarty II, 13 of Dickinson is Friday, July 11, 2003, 12:30 p. m. at St. Elizabeth?s Catholic Church, Lefor with Father William P. Cosgrove, celebrating. Interment will follow in St. Elizabeth?s Cemetery, Lefor. Visitation is Thursday from 12:00 p. m. to 9:00 p. m. at Stevenson-Mischel-Olson Chapel a rosary will be recited at 7:00 p. m. John was called to heaven July 6, 2003, at the tender age of 13, due to a auto accident. John Patrick McCarty II was born December 30, 1989, at Tripler Army Medical Hospital, Honolulu, Hawaii to Kim Kay (Lampl) Martin and John McCarty. John traveled to eleven different countries and several different states while his mother served in the U. S. Navy. He was very active in sports and was very enthusiastic about Boy Scouts. He was the Den Chief for Pack 30 Den 2 for the year 2000 and 2001. He earned the Arrow of Light on February 2001, and rank of 2nd class scout in December 2001, belonging to Troop 26. John loved all types of music and played the saxophone. He was an altar boy at St. Wenceslaus Church for two years and attended St. Wenceslaus School up to his 5th year. He went to Roosevelt Elementary for 6th year, and Hagen Junior High, the first two semesters. He then moved to Mesa, Arizona to spend time with his father, John, step-mother, Molly and his stepbrother, Jordan and half brother Mathew. John traveled back to Haverfordwest, Wales to visit his step father, David Martin and stepbrothers, David and Alan Martin, on numerous occasions. He became an uncle to Josh Martin on November of 2002. John was excellent with kids, especially younger kids. He loved his brother Thomas McCarty very much and they were inseparable most of his life. John got the privilege of naming his brother Thomas. He will be greatly missed by his mother and his father and step-father, step-mother, brothers; numerous friends he has made along the way (adults and kids alike), special friends: Judy, Tess, Aunt Letty, Terri and Wanda; aunts and uncles, cousins; grandparents, John and Venita Lampl and Great Grandma Lena Keller. He was preceded in death by two infant brothers; grandparents Vincent Michael and Kathrine McCarty; Great Grandparents, John and Theresia Lampl and Great Grandpas, Paul Pfaff and Anton Keller.
