John H. Saden III, 77, of Grassy Butte passed away Friday, April 14, 2023 at Marian Manor Health Care in Glen Ullin, ND.

Per John's request cremation has taken place and no services will be held.

John “Jack” H. Saden III  was born March 14, 1946 in Dunkirk, New York to John W. II and Edith (Towne) Saden. He graduated from Fredonia High School in 1964. John enlisted into the United States Navy on September 29, 1964 and worked as a medic in the Vietnam War. After being honorably discharged in 1966 he moved to Alaska with a friend. It was there he met Marilyn Dahl. The couple was married December 14, 1968 in Anchorage, Alaska. To this union three children were born, Stephanie, Suzanne and John. The family moved back to New York where John worked on his family farm. After a few years the family moved to Watford City, North Dakota where he worked as a carpenter for various construction companies.

John enjoyed fishing, watching sports, golfing and most of all his dogs.

He is survived by his daughters Stephanie (Jeff) Kling of Halliday, Suzanne (Mike) Klatt of Grassy Butte; siblings, Charles Saden of Alaska, Mary Allee of Ohio, Margaret Burgan of Houston, Carolyn Casper-Saden of Houston, Marcia (Charles) Hearn of Houston; grandchildren, Brockton (Ashlee Brase) Coxe, Wil (Hannah Jukuri) Kling, Tuff Kling, Hannah Kling, Austin Klatt, Brianna Klatt; great-grandchildren, Valli and Max Kling.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn; parents, John and Edith; son, Johnny; siblings, Christine, Tom, Donald, infant brother, Jimmy and infant sister, Kathy.
