Kathleen passed away peacefully February 13, 2023 in Fargo, ND.

Kathleen (Carroll) Haas was born in Dickinson, North Dakota on the 3rd of December 1936, the fifth child born to Clarence Carroll and Mary (Scherger) Carroll and raised on a small farm in the North Dakota heartland with her four brothers and three sisters. In her twenties, she moved to Chicago to experience big city life, but always remained a country girl at heart. She loved western culture and visiting the North Dakotan countryside with her children and grandchildren. She remained in the Chicago area until 2016, raising her family and supporting her career. Throughout her life, Kathleen exhibited extraordinary determination, fortitude, and commitment to excellence as she worked as a senior manager for a catering company for over 40 years. She won numerous awards based on her outstanding performance, work ethic and dedication, but will be most remembered for her friendship and teamwork. In her later years, Kathleen retired to Fargo, North Dakota to spend quality time with her brother and sisters. Throughout her life Kathleen loved to travel, most especially on her annual sister trips, and share her experiences abroad with family. She was a fantastic cook, her recipes being passed down generations, and she loved to entertain family gatherings. She cared for and loved her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and entire family very much. Her nurturing kindness, witty humor, and heart full of love will be truly missed by all.

Kathleen is survived by her two loving children and spouses Caryn (Rob) Pacholski and David (April) Haas; five grandchildren Brad Haas (fiancé Brittanie), Jessica (Puru) Athavale, Scott (Madison) Haas, Lauren (Robert) Zappitelli, and Kelli Haas; her very precious three great-granddaughters Avery Haas, Vira Athavale, and Aurora Zappitelli; her loving brothers Pat Carroll, Joe Carroll, and Nick Carroll; and her loving sisters Sister Clarice Carroll, Patricia Carroll, and Rita Weber.

The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to Kathleen’s doctors, nurses, and nursing aides.
