Funeral service for Lee Talkington, 82, will be 10:00 am MT, Friday, October 10, 2025 at Stevenson's Funeral Home in Dickinson with Pastor Mike Pretzer officiating. Private interment will be at the Belfield Lutheran Cemetery, Belfield, ND with Military Rites by the William C. Blair Post #144. Visitation will take place one hour prior to his service.

Lee Scot Talkington, of South Heart passed away on September 27 surrounded by family and friends.

Lee was born on January 7, 1943 the son of Harold R. and Madge S. Talkington of Belfield, ND. Growing up, he worked alongside his father and his brothers, Clark and Curt, moving cattle and doing ranch work on the Talkington Ranch. As teenagers Clark and Lee drove cattle from the TR National Park to Belfield.

Lee attended school in Belfield graduating in 1960. He attended Dickinson State College and Valley City State College before enlisting in the Army in 1964. Lee served two tours in Viet Nam and was discharged in 1966. Upon his return, he finished his college education earning a Bachelor of Science in Education in 1967.

Lee moved to California and taught school and worked for the US Postal Service while also taking classes at California State University, Dominguez Hills to further his love of learning. He married the love of his life "Tiger", Glenda Sue Tollefson on September 26, 1985. They, celebrated 40 years together on September 26, 2025. Lee and Glenda were world travelers visiting such places as the Great pyramids, Timbuktu, Africa, Southeast Asia, Australia, New Zealand, Europe, Ukraine, Russia, South America, with Lee professing he visited 152 countries.

Lee had a lifelong love for sports, especially basketball and baseball during his high school years, where he was also a good coach. He enjoyed playing pool for many years and competed on several leagues, even advancing to state tournaments. At home, his own pool table was a favorite gathering spot. Lee also found joy in bird watching and spent years feeding the birds and squirrels around his home. No matter where life took him, he made it a habit to start each day with a walk often covering 8 to 10 miles every morning.

Lee is survived by his wife, Glenda Talkington; brother, Clark (Sandi) Talkington and their daughter, Janice (Brock) Johnson and their sons Lucas and Blake Johnson; daughter, Jody Talkington (Scott Kim) and their son Kyan Kim; and daughter, Joy (Ryan) Bailey; brother, Curt (Juanita) Talkington and their son, Shane (Amanda) and their daughter Abby, and sons Hadley and Cade, son, Travis (Tabitha) and their sons, Alexander and Christian, and daughters Victoria and Madison, and Lane Stoltz (Jakee), and their daughter Juniper; sister-in-law, Maureen (Marlin) Neidhardt, and their sons, Colt, Clint and his son Wyatt (Symonne) and their children Elizabeth and Jake, and daughter Jessica Neidhardt, and sister-in- law, Cheryl Tollefson (Doug Pope).

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold R. (Madge S.) Talkington and in-laws, Mark (Elizabeth) Tollefson.
