A visitation for Lynn Schulz, 65, of Dickinson will be held from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at Stevenson Funeral Home with a short prayer at 10:30am followed by a Celebration of Life from 1:00 pm-4:00 pm, at St. Anthony’s Club with light refreshments.
Lynn died peacefully on Sunday, May 4, 2025, with family by her side. She fought a courageous battle with cancer, always positive until the end.
Lynn was born April 8, 1960, to Theodore and Marie Ann Schulz at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Dickinson, ND and had two sisters and a brother she loved so much, Arlette, Michele, and Jerod “JJ”. She grew up on a farm in New England and attended New England High School until moving to Rapid City, SD in 1976 where she finished high school.
When not helping on the family farm, she enjoyed riding motorcycles and horses. She enjoyed all her “pets” including a baby deer, skunk, rabbit, and cats.
She married Wayne Olheiser in 1977 for 19 years and raised two children, Amy and Josh. She would later date Alan “Fred” Friedt for 20+ years who remained a friend until the end.
Lynn was a stay-at-home mother and started working once the kids were older. She enjoyed the jobs and the people she met along the way, always bringing laughter and joy to her coworkers.
She absolutely loved her flowers and plants and had some sort of magic for keeping them alive for over 20 years! She also loved hanging with Bunny outside along with the birds and squirrels.
Lynn always lived life to the fullest, maybe a little close to the edge at times! She kept life interesting and fun and loved exploring and going on adventures! She enjoyed the family trips and going to concerts and enjoyed all the amazing times throughout her life with close friends and family, especially with her grandkids.
She always had a passion for good rock and roll music and passed away to one of her many favorite songs by Journey. She wouldn’t have had it any other way than to rock out as the angels quietly took her away.
Her love, warmth, contagious smile, and infectious laugh will be deeply missed by all.
Lynn is survived by her children, Amy (Randy) Berry of Portland, OR and Josh (DelRae) Olheiser of Dickinson, ND; grandchildren, McKenzi, Camden, and Lyvia along with her bonus grandchildren, Josh, Kadie, Sebastian, and Anastasia and two bonus great granddaughters; parents, Marie Ann (Donald) Chantry; sisters, Arlette (Tim) Diggs and Michele (Scott) Peterson; and three nephews (and their families) she adored greatly, Beau, Dustin, and Cody.
She is proceeded in death by her father, Theodore Schulz and her brother, Jerod “JJ” Schulz.
