Macrina Arroyo, 76, of Dickinson passed away Monday, June 1, 2026 at St. Alexius Hospital, Bismarck, ND.

Funeral Mass for Macrina will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 6, 2026 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Dickinson. In accordance with Macrina's wishes, cremation will take place and she will be laid to rest near her home in Mexico.

Macrina Arroyo was born on January 14, 1950, to Ma. Del Refugio Torres Castillo in Uruapan, Michoacán, Mexico. She spent her early years in Mexico, where she attended school and built the foundation for a life centered on family, friendship, and kindness.

On December 16, 1969, Macrina married Jose Luis Heredia Huerta. Together they were blessed with three daughters and shared many years building a loving family.

Later, Macrina married Samuel Arroyo Arroyo. The couple shared more than 20 years together, living for a time in Mexico before eventually making their home in Madera, California. Samuel passed away on August 21, 2009. Following his death, Macrina remained a widow and eventually moved to Dickinson, North Dakota, to be near her daughter, Adriana, and her family.

Macrina enjoyed many simple pleasures in life. She loved music and dancing and could often be found cooking for those she loved or watching her favorite soap operas. She had a special talent for knitting and enjoyed creating handmade items for family and friends. Macrina had a wonderful sense of humor and a gift for making friends wherever she went. Her warm personality, kind heart, and easy smile drew people to her, and she cherished spending time visiting with friends and loved ones.

She treasured the time spent with her children, grandchildren, and those she loved most. Macrina will be remembered for her loving heart, her strong devotion to family, her welcoming nature, and the joy she brought to those around her. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.

Macrina is survived by her daughters, Sonia Henderson (Roberta Garibay), Adriana Heredia, Susanna Gabriela Heredia Torres and eight grandchildren.

Macrina was preceded in death by her mother and her first husband, Jose Luis Heredia Huerta and her second husband, Samuel Arroyo Arroyo.
