Celebration of life service for Magdelena "Maggie" Eugenia Obrigewitch, 87, of Bismarck formerly of Belfield will be held at 2 pm Wednesday, July 8, 2026 at Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson, ND. A private burial will take place at a later date.

Maggie passed away Sunday, July 5th 2026 at her home in Bismarck.

Magdelena was born in Hebron, ND, on October 17, 1938, the daughter of Frank and Amelia (Keller) Skalsky. She grew up on the family farm in Oliver County, south of Beulah. She was an adventurous middle child attending country school 18 miles from home. Maggie graduated from Glen Ullin High School in 1957. Following graduation, she worked in Billings, MT for a year where she met her future husband, Joseph Obrigewitch.

The two were married on October 3, 1959. They were blessed with seven children who they proudly raised on the family farm north of Belfield. Maggie became a devoted wife and mother in the family dairy operation which also included farming and ranching. She also enjoyed chickens and gardening. Maggie went back to college, graduating in 1990 from Dickinson State University with a Business Degree.

Over the years, she spent time in Washington State and traveled all over the world including Europe, Russia, Caribbean, Australia, and various other locations. She returned to Belfield, North Dakota in 2008, later moving to Dickinson in 2015, and making her final home in Bismarck in 2024.

Maggie loved baking homemade bread with the wheat they grew on the farm. Maggie always said, "My favorite job was working at the Chateau De Mores in Medora" as a tour guide. She was very grateful for her prayer partner, Diana, of over 30+ years. Maggie lived a faith-filled life and cherished her relationship with Christ. Her greatest wish is to leave a legacy for each of her family members to personally know the LORD ~ living a life of Prayer and Spiritual Encouragement to others.

Maggie is survived by her sons, Joel (Joleen) and Kurt (Tammy)
Obrigewitch; daughters, Karla (Myron) Roth, Karen Obrigewitch, Jennifer (John) Leingang, Amy Santoro; daughter-in-law, Tammy Schumacher; sister, Leona Schaaf; grandchildren, Alyssa, Lexi, Sara, Zach, Samantha, Sam, Ben, Olivia, Jonah, Hunter, Taya, and Trin; great grandchildren; Ava, Lennox, William, Grayson, Sage, and baby Vettel on the way.
