Funeral Mass for Margaret “Margie” Tormaschy, 93, of Dickinson will be 9:30 a.m., Thursday, November 30 2023, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Richardton with Father Thomas Wordekemper OSB celebrating. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Richardton.

Visitation for Margaret will be 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 29th at Stevenson Funeral Home with a rosary and vigil being held at 6:00 p.m.

Margaret passed away Saturday, November 25, 2023 at St. Luke’s Home in Dickinson.

Margaret was born January 26, 1930 in rural Dickinson to John and Christine (Metz) Staudinger. She grew up in Richardton and helped on her family farm. Margie met her sweetheart, Eugene Tormaschy in the spring of 1952 at Gene’s cousin’s wedding dance and the couple was married on June 29, 1953 at St Mary’s in Richardton. Margie moved down to Texas for a year with her son Gary, while Gene was enlisted in the Army. The couple moved back to North Dakota and together they bought a farm northeast of Gladstone where they raised their seven children; Gary, Carol, Allen, Dale, Diane, Nell and Amy.

Margie was a farm wife who was known for her huge garden. She milked many cows and sold her cream along with chickens and eggs.

She enjoyed embroidering and cross stitching. Her family will remember her for her quiet nature, but also knowing she was always there when they needed her.

Margie was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Richardton.

Margaret is survived by her children, Gary (Cathy) of Taylor, Carol Sigl of Richardton, Allen (Vicky) of Taylor, Dale (Kathy) Loveland, CO, Diane (Tony) Feldstein of Monument, CO, Nell (Ernie) Buckman of Belfield, Amy (Todd) O’Donnell of Dickinson; 13 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; brothers, Elmer Staudinger of Richardton, Val (Marlene) Staudinger of Dickinson; brother-in-law, Paul (Janie) of Gladstone; sisters-in-law, Rosie Tormaschy of Dickinson, Lenette Staudinger of IL; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Margaret is preceded in death by her husband, Eugene; her parents, John and Christine Staudinger; sisters, Louise Silvy, Regina Hauck, Magdaline Hauck, Deloris Boespflug; brothers, Frank, Joseph, John Staudinger;  grandson-in-law, Jeremy Buckman; great-granddaughter, Bailey Buckman; sons-in-law, Ray Sigl Jr, and David Hueske.
