Marjorie Cline

Marjorie Joan Cline, age 76, of Miles City formerly of Ekalaka passed away Sunday, December 22, 2002 at home surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. Marjorie Joan Strait was born in 1926 to James Duane and Lulu Rafinberic Strait. She attended country school, Plevna School, and later moved to Ekalaka where she attended high school. While in Ekalaka, she met her first husband Robert George Metzenberg. He was killed on the Philippine Islands during World War II. One child, Georgie Joan Metzenberg, was born to this union. She then married Gene Loehding. They later divorced. Marjorie then married Roy M. Cline in 1950 and to this union four children were born: Marjorie, Sheila, Michael, and Robert. They made their home on the Cline Ranch south of Ekalaka where they spent many happy years. They later moved to Oregon and Wyoming where they lived during the summers and spent several winters in Arizona. After Roy’s passing, Marjorie continued to travel south with her daughter Georgia, where she would meet her other daughters Marjorie and Sheila and many friends and relatives and spend the winter. Marjorie enjoyed traveling and had many hobbies but she gained her greatest enjoyment from gatherings with family and friends. When Marjorie’s cancer progressed, she moved to Cheyenne, Wyoming to live with her son Micheal and his wife Melody. As the cancer progressed further, she moved back to Miles City to be near her family and friends. Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband Roy in 1996, a sister, Bessie” three brothers: Francis Marion and Jimmy; her mother Lulu Meriou and her father James D. Strait. She is survived by three daughters: Georgia Wipf of Miles City MT Marjorie Saukerson of Miles City MT and Sheila Cline of Quartzsite AZ; a son Micheal Cline of Cheyenne WY; an adopted son Robert Cline of Cheyenne WY; twelve grandchildren twenty great grandchildren; two sisters: Leota Elmore of Laurel and Mary Whitney of Miles City; Several brothers and sister-in-laws; and many nieces nephews and cousins.
