A graveside services will be held for Mark Monette at a later date.
Mark Richard Monette was born November 22, 1955 in Emerson, Canada, the son of Arthur "Dick" and Edith (Little) Monette. He grew up in the small town of Pembina, North Dakota, near the Canadian border. He graduated from Pembina High School in 1974 and maintained many friendships with his small graduating class. He went on to attend college at the University of North Dakota and obtained a bachelor's degree in business. He was a proud member of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity where he formed even more lasting friendships.
After college, he began his work in finance, starting out in the banking business and later working in car dealerships. He later owned and operated his own business. He was always an ambitious and hard worker.
He met his wife, Audrey, in Bismarck, North Dakota, and the two were united in marriage on September 4th, 1982 at McCabe Methodist Church. The couple had two children, Nathan and Kaitlin. The family lived in various states over the years including Washington, Missouri, Colorado, North Dakota, and New Mexico.
Mark had a great sense of humor and was the life of the party. He enjoyed golfing with his buddies, watching sports and old classic movies, and cooking up warm, comforting meals for his family. He loved living life his own way, as long as he had a dog or two there, as his companions. His dearly loved dogs, Jasmine, Bailee, and Bella held a special place in his heart.
Mark became a widower and later met Olivia Nguyen. The two were married and later divorced, but their bond endured beyond marriage, and they remained close companions.
Mark passed away Sunday, September 7, 2025 at University Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas. Mark is survived by his son, Nathan Monette; daughter, Kaitlin Inman (Ryan), his two grandsons, Everett and Reed; his four sisters, Laura (Lyle) Ladouceur, Jeannie (Mike) Parsons, Diane (Ron) Binning, Ruthie Sorenson (Mike Kahl), sister-in-law, Mary(Gary) Lukach, as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Audrey Monette; parents, Dick and Edith Monette; father-in-law, Glen Hinshaw; and mother-in-law, Emma Hinshaw.
