Celebration of Life will be held 3:00 pm Saturday, April 11, 2026 at the American Legion in Baker.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mark Wang, age 73 due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident, a man whose quiet presence, generous spirit, and unforgettable laugh left a lasting mark on everyone who knew him.

Mark was born on November 29, 1952, to Dulane “Pete” and Anna Mae (MacKay) Wang. He was raised alongside his four brothers—Dave, Mike, Joe, and Jimmy—on a ranch north of Baker, Montana. Those early years shaped the man he became—hardworking, independent, and deeply connected to the land and the people around him. He attended a country grade school in Ollie and later graduated from Baker High School.

Mark made his life in Baker, where he began working in the oil field and started a family. He was a proud and loving father to his son, Corey Wang (Alissa), and his daughter, Tifhany Rex (John). His grandchildren—Jakob, Rylee, Trevor, Paysha, and Vann—were the light of his life. He loved them deeply and in his own quiet way made sure they always knew it.

Over the years, Mark became known as a true jack of all trades. After his time in the oil field, he built pole barns and took on just about anything that needed fixing. If he didn’t know how to do something, he would figure it out. That was just who he was determined, capable, and never one to back down from a challenge. He found joy in rebuilding cars and was always chasing the next bargain, always working with his hands, always creating something.

Mark had a restless, adventurous spirit. He loved the open road and the freedom of just going—never tied down for long. You never quite knew when he might show up, walking in with a simple “hey,” that familiar smile, and then just as quickly be off on his next journey. Those moments, though sometimes brief, meant everything.

He was a quiet man, but he loved in a way that was steady and true. You didn’t have to question where you stood with him—if you needed him, he was there. No questions, no hesitation. Just a helping hand and a good heart.

Mark loved people. He loved being where the laughter was, where the stories were being told. Whether he was playing cards, shooting pool, hunting, fishing, or just spending time with friends, he found joy in the simple moments. In his younger years, he even rode broncs just another reflection of his fearless and free-spirited nature. He remained active in pool league and built friendships everywhere he went.

His nieces and nephews meant the world to him, and being “Uncle Mark” was a role he carried with love, pride, and a warmth they will always remember.

Mark didn’t need to be the loudest person in the room to be one of the most meaningful. He showed his love through actions, through time, through simply being there. And because of that, his absence leaves a space that can never truly be filled.

He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered.

Mark is survived by his kids, Corey (Alissa) of Billings MT, Tifhany (John) of Bowman ND; His 5 Grandchildren; mother Anna Mae of Baker; his brothers Dave (Cindy) of Baker, Joe (Cindy) of Lolo, MT and Jimmy (Denise) of Plevna, MT and his many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Dulane “Pete” Wang: brother, Michael Wang and nephew Jason Wang. To honor Mark, his cremains will be returned to the family ranch he so dearly loved.
