A Liturgy of the Word service for Martha Braun, 85, of Dickinson, will be 9:00 a. m. , Monday, June 22, 2015 at Stevenson Funeral Home with Deacon Kris Ringwall officiating. Burial will take place in the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, ND. Visitation for Martha will be 3:00 p. m. – 6:00 p. m. , Sunday, June 21st at the funeral home with a rosary and vigil service being held at 4:00 p. m. Martha passed away Monday, June 15, 2015 at St. Benedict’s Health Center. Martha was born October 18, 1929, the daughter of Anton and Mary (Kostelecky) Pribyl. She grew up on the family farm three miles north of Dickinson. Martha attended school in Dickinson, graduating from Dickinson High School. She worked as a waitress for Binek’s Husky Café. On May 9, 1949, Martha married Louie P. Braun in Dickinson. The couple moved to Louie’s grandfather and father’s homestead south of Dickinson. Martha and Louie later moved to Dickinson in 1972. In April of 1981, the couple moved to Lake Havasu, Arizona for 14 years. In 1995, they returned to Dickinson where they have made their home since. Martha was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church. She did volunteer work at New Horizons in Lake Havasu. She enjoyed dancing, especially polkas and waltzes. Not only did Martha enjoy making homemade noodles, sauerkraut, canning and sewing, she was an avid bingo and card player as well. She will be remembered for her honest spunk. However, Martha’s true love was spending time with her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Martha is survived by her daughters, Brenda (Mike) Obritsch of Rapid City, SD, LuAnn (Steve) Roberts of McMinnville, OR, and Marla Braun of Dickinson; sons, Pete Braun of Dickinson and Dean Braun of Chandler, AZ; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Anton and Mary; husband, Louie; son, Tim; daughters, Kimberly Braun and Nancy Charles; brothers, Louie, Laudie and Ed Pribyl; sisters, Carm Ficek and Vi Kadrmas.
