Merri Beck passed away on November 29, 2025 at the Fallon Medical Complex in Baker.
Merri Lee Beck, beloved wife, mother, and friend, left this world peacefully on November 29, 2025, after a hard fought 5-year battle with cancer, at the age of 64. Merri was born on February 4, 1961, in Baker, Montana, where she grew up and flourished in the community she loved so dearly. She graduated from Baker High School in 1979. She started her career in banking while still in High School in the book keeping department. Although she never went to college, she excelled working with numbers and became an asset to Bank Of Baker, working her way up and earning her position of Vice President.
In December 1979, Merri married Don Buerkle, welcoming two wonderful children, Andrea and Brandon, into their lives. After their marriage ended, Merri found love again with Donald Beck, who complemented her warmth and spirit. Together, they embraced a beautiful blended family that included Michelle, Nicholas, and Nathan.
Merri’s professional journey evolved in 2004 when she took a leap of faith to purchase Russell’s Clothing. Through her hard work, she turned it into a beloved fixture in the community, known for its inviting atmosphere, quality merchandise, and heartfelt service. In addition to running her store, she skillfully managed the books for Fallon County Veterinary Service, a business owned by her husband, Don, while also keeping meticulous records for their family ranch.
Family was the center of Merri’s world. She treasured her five children and their families, always beaming with pride for her children and grandchildren. Merri’s loving nature was evident in her passion for quilting, crafting hundreds of beautiful quilts that brought warmth and comfort to those around her. She and Don shared many adventures, with the Cayman Islands being a cherished destination that brought her great joy.
Merri will be forever missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Merri is survived by her devoted husband, Don; her sons, Nicholas (Lindsey) Beck of Missoula, MT, Nathan Beck of Baker, MT, Brandon Buerkle of Denver, CO; her daughters, Michelle (Jason) Moser and Andrea (Philip) Huft of Baker; her grandchildren, Zane and Audrey Beck, Beau and Blakely Beck, Maria and Jackson Moser, Cade, Colter, Cuyler, and Chantz Huft; and her siblings, Susie Evans and Jim Flor. She is proceeded in death by her parents, Newton and Doris (Boch) Flor.
