Michael Phillips, 50, of Dunn Center, passed away January 22, 2023 in Dunn Center.
No services will be held at this time.
Michael Duane Phillips Jr. was born on July 14, 1972 in Aberdeen, Washington to Michael Phillips Sr. and Edith Pringle. He spent his younger years all over western Washington and did his schooling at North River.
Michael was blessed with one son, Mike.
Michael met Tammi Nettnin in October of 1987, and they were best friends for twelve years before becoming a couple. They were together for twenty-three years before Michael’s passing. He and Tammi moved around northwest Montana before finally settling in North Dakota in 2013.
Michael spent most of his career as a heavy equipment operator, most recently working as the head of maintenance for the city of Dunn Center.
He loved the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, camping, and a good game of cornhole. Michael had a Harley, and he and Tammi often enjoyed cruising around Dunn Center and the surrounding areas. He will be greatly missed by his family and all of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
Michael is survived by his best friend and long-time partner, Tammi Nettnin; his son, Mike Koonrad; his brothers, Patrick Brooks and Norman Libey; his sisters, Debbie Grossman, Clara Mae Bernston, and Sandra Cooper; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Edith; and one nephew, Bobby Crawford.
