Funeral Mass for Monica Wanner, 88, of Dickinson, ND will be 10:00 am, Thursday, July 24, 2025 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Dickinson with Father Justin Waltz celebrating. Burial will be in the St. Pius Cemetery.

Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 pm., Wednesday, July 23, 2025 at Stevenson Funeral Home with a rosary service being held at 6:00 pm.

Monica passed away Sunday, July 20, 2025 at CHI St. Alexius, Dickinson.

Monica Godlevsky was born January 10, 1937 in Dunn County, the daughter of Stanley and Anna (Roller) Godlevsky. She grew up and went to a country school in Dunn County before she moved to Dickinson with her parents. She worked at St. Joseph Hospital as a certified nurse’s aide for two years and then went to St. Joseph’s School of Practical Nursing and graduated in 1956 as an LPN. She continued to work at St. Joseph Hospital for three more years as a nurse. On June 23, 1959, Monica and Maynard Wanner were united in marriage at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Dickinson. To this union, three children were born, Mitchell, Myles and Mischelle. Together, they moved to the family farm, 18 miles southwest of Dickinson. They farmed, ranched and milked dairy cows. After retiring from the dairy business, Monica regained her nursing license and worked as a LPN at St. Benedict’s Nursing Home from 1996 to 2010. She believed in health care and was a donor, donating over 15 gallons of blood. Monica enjoyed the baby dairy calves, gardening and growing her flowers. She and Maynard loved to square dance. She also enjoyed trips in the states, including Hawaii, Branson, MO and Canada.

Monica was a member of St. Joseph’s Christian Mothers and St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, and a member and Past President of St. Pius Altar Guild.

Monica is survived by her children, Mischelle (Jerry) Rebel of New England, Mitchell Wanner of Dickinson; four grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and two step- great-grandchildren; sisters, Loretta (Albert) Degele of Fergus Falls, MN; sister-in-law Leona Godlevsky of Dickinson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Anna Godlevsky; husband, Maynard; son, Myles; grandson, Jess Rebel; brothers, Charlie, Edmond, Albert Godlevsky and David Godlevsky; sisters, Gertrude Zimmerman; Dorothy (Jack) Herold and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Arnold and Delores Wanner, Nick and Terry Wanner, Otto Hibl, Veronica Wanner.
