Dunn Center

Pamala Verreras, 79, of Dunn Center passed away on May 11, 2023 at CHI St. Alexius in Dickinson. No services are being held at this time.

Pamala Rose Gilmore was born on September 5, 1943 in Modesto, California to Wesley and Rebecca (Stockman) Gilmore. She married Videl Carlos Verreras and they had three children, Troy, Ramona, and Valerie.

Pamala lived in California for the majority of her life, only recently moving to North Dakota in February of 2019. She was so excited to cross the North Dakota border, shouting “I’m a North Dakotan!” She loved watching the snow fall out the window during the winter.

Pamala had many hobbies. She enjoyed being outdoors and riding her Arabian horse. She had a large garden with a pond, and she loved filling it with flowers. Pamala was a skilled artist, and she painted and drew many landscapes and horses. She liked to crochet and quilt, and she made many baby blankets for her grandchildren. She also loved to dance, and taught her family the twist, two-step, and waltz.

She absolutely adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She helped raised many of them and spent much of her time taking care of them. She always put them before herself and was constantly asking what she could do for them. During their last conversations, many of her grandchildren told her that if it wasn’t for her, they wouldn’t have the faith they have now. She brought them closer to God.

Pamala will be forever loved and greatly missed by her entire family.

Pamala is survived by her daughters, Ramona Verreras and Valerie Lemus; her grandchildren, Chantel Morris, Candace Morris-McGowen, Mariah Padgett, Randi Spence, Brianna Lemus, Anthony Lemus, and Nate Lemus; her great-grandchildren, Leila, Landon, Matthias, and Mason McGowen, Avery and Chandler McGowen, and Keaton Brown; and her sister, Billie.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Wesley and Rebecca; her husband, Videl (2009); her son, Troy (2014); and her sister, Vivian.
