Funeral Mass for Pauline Kessel, 98, of Dickinson, will be 10:00 am, Saturday, March 21, 2026 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Dickinson with Father Keith Streifel celebrating. Burial will follow to St. Joseph's Cemetery.

Visitation for Pauline will be 5:00 to 7:00 pm, Friday, March 20, 2026 at Stevenson Funeral Home with a rosary and vigil taking place at 6:00 pm.

Pauline passed away March 16, 2026 at CHI St. Alexius Hospital in Dickinson.

Pauline was born on June 15, 1927, in Dickinson to Joseph and Katherine (Huck) Faller. She attended St. Joseph School and later Dickinson High School. Throughout her life, Pauline worked as a Gold Bond stamp clerk, waitress, and held various other positions, always known for her strong work ethic and dedication.

On May 6, 1946, she was united in marriage to Theodore Kessel at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Dickinson. To this union 5 children were born. Pauline had a deep love for family, faith, and simple joys. She enjoyed softball, dancing, and bowling. She found great happiness in knitting jackets for her grandchildren and crocheting afghans for family, friends, and her church. Pauline also had a creative spirit, making crocheted decorations and wall hangings. She cherished time spent playing cards with her friend group for over 70 years and was involved in the Trinity Booster Club.

Pauline is survived by her children; Thomas (Donna) Kessel, Fargo, ND, Theodore Jr. (Kathleen) Kessel, Fergus Falls, MN; Kathleen "Kathy" Kessel of Dickinson, and Timothy (Norene) Kessel, Bismarck, ND; 7 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Ludy K. Kostelecky of Spokane, WA, Lu Faller of Bismarck, ND, and Terry Kessel of Dickinson, ND; brother-in-law, Ervin (Marilyn) Kessel; along with many extended family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore Kessel; son, Robert Kessel; parents, Joseph and Katherine Faller; and siblings Rose Anderson, Betty Jane (infant), John Faller, Leo Faller, William Faller, and Margie Robinson.

Pauline will be remembered for her kindness, creativity, devotion to family, and the quiet, steady way she cared for those around her.
