Funeral Services for Ronald “Ron” Rehurek, 74, of Dickinson will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at Stevenson Funeral Home with Pastor Scott Skones officiating. Military Honors will be presented by the Dickinson American Legion Post #3 Honor Guard.

Visitation for Ron will be an hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Visitation will continue on Friday, January 19, 2024 at Goglin Funeral Home in Tyndall, South Dakota with burial to follow at the Tyndall Cemetery.

Ron passed away Thursday, January 11, 2024 at CHI St. Alexius Health in Dickinson.

Ronald Rehurek was born April 4, 1949 in Yankton, South Dakota to Calvin Alfred and Lorraine (Hamberger) Rehurek. Ron graduated from Tyndall High School in 1969.

Ron joined the US Army National Guard after high school. Ron attended many weekend duties, summer trainings and served during the Rapid City Flood in 1972.

Ron graduated from South Dakota State University where he received his Bachelors Degree in Education.

Ron was an excellent finish carpenter and worked in Sioux Falls where he met Linda R Dvorak. Together they had three children, Brian, Tamara and Sara. His construction work took him to Bismarck and then to Connecticut. Ron worked for Design Build Group of Nebraska where he built and remodeled Seventh Day Adventist Churches in Connecticut, New York and Massachusetts. Ron and Linda divorced in 1995.

Ron moved to Dickinson where he began working for Kolling and Kolling for over 30 years. He was then employed at Roers until taking a job in 2014 with Edgewood Hawks Point as a maintenance technician.

Ron and Deb Kudrna were friends who in 2006 decided to join hearts and hands in love and continue their lives together. The couple enjoyed traveling in their motor home and spending time with each other’s families and friends in Virginia, Montana and North Dakota.

Ron enjoyed a good board game, pinochle, camping in the mountains, hunting in his younger years and dancing. Ron and Deb spent many hours antique shopping and outfitting the motorhome for their next adventure.

Ron is survived by his mother, Lorraine (Hamberger) Rehurek of Tyndall, SD; children, Brian Rehurek (Kim) of Mandan, ND, Tamara (Joseph) Huston of Garrison, ND, Sara (Shubham) Verma of Dickinson, ND; grandson, Beckett James Huston of Garrison, ND; brothers, Allen and Terry Rehurek of Tyndall, SD; sisters, Sharon (Rudy) Bitterman of Tripp, SD, Lou Rehurek of Sioux Falls, SD, Candy (Keith) Raysby of Avon, SD; life partner, Deb Kudrna of Dickinson, ND and her family, Alex (Jayme) Daniels, Emilia and Alyssa of Virginia Beach, VA; Katie (Mike) Chorne, Scarlett, Easton, Willow, Simon and Winnie of Mandan, ND; Jonathan (Rachel Trudell) Kudrna of Billings, MT; former wife, Linda R Dvorak of Dickinson, ND; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ron is preceded in death by his father, Calvin Alfred Rehurek and infant brothers Calvin Lee Rehurek and Donald Rehurek.
