Rose passed away September 8, 2025 at Fallon Medical Complex in Baker.
Born in Linton, North Dakota, Rosella “Rose” Crawford was the daughter of Antonne and Helen (Vetch) Grenstiner. Raised on the family farm alongside her seven siblings, Rose’s early years were shaped by the values of hard work, resilience, and close-knit family bonds. She attended country school until the untimely passing of her father, a loss that led the family to relocate to Baker, where they found strength and support near her older sister and brother-in-law.
It was in Baker that Rose met Clyde Crawford. The two were married on December 21, 1949, beginning a partnership rooted in love and devotion. Together, they built a life filled with hard work, joyful moments, and the deep love that they poured into raising their children, which included, four daughters and two sons. As the years passed, Rose’s children grew up and started families of their own. Her home and heart continued to expand, welcoming many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and even great-great-grandchildren. Rose took immense pride in watching her family grow.
Rose was a kind and thoughtful soul, who worked hard and took pride in being a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend. She found joy in cooking and baking for her family, especially her famous caramel rolls, which were loved by all who tasted them. Her caramel rolls became more than just a family favorite; they were a quiet symbol of love and comfort. Whether at family gatherings or during times when friends needed a little extra care, Rose’s baking was her way of showing up with warmth, support, and something sweet to lift their spirits. Rose also spent over 20 years working as a CNA at Fallon Medical Complex, where her compassion and dedication touched many lives. Over the years, Rose also faced her share of heartache, health concerns and loss of loved ones, meeting each challenge with quiet strength. She always took pride in her appearance, jeans, a stylish jacket, a scarf that added just the right touch, the perfect piece of jewelry, and always the perfectly polished nails to bring it all together.
Rose’s life was meaningful and created memories that her family will forever cherish and hold close to their hearts. Her days had purpose, grace, and a deep sense of care for those around her. Along the way, she made many cherished friendships. Rose spent the last year and a half of her life at Superior Care, where she was surrounded by kindness and familiar faces. She especially enjoyed the extra time she shared with her dear friends Morris and Joy, whose presence brought her comfort, laughter, and companionship in her final year.
Rose will be missed dearly and is survived by her Children: Judy Trusty and family; Deb Ranum and grandson Tuf; Rosella and Rick Fisher and family; and Sharon and John Thielen and family; Daughter in law, Anna Crawford and family. Rose leaves behind many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren.
